The Nigeria Democratic Congress has called on Nigerians to register for their Permanent Voter Cards as the Independent National Electoral Commission conducts the exercise ahead of 2027. The party also wants eligible voters to back its presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the coming election.
The push came through a statement from NDC National Publicity Secretary Barrister Osa Director following the party's voter registration mobilisation drive. He told reporters the PVC represents the most vital weapon citizens have to shape Nigeria's future through their votes.
Director urged young Nigerians and first-time voters not to skip the chance to get registered and collect their cards. "The PVC remains the most powerful instrument for every citizen to determine the future of Nigeria through the ballot box," he said.
The party spokesman stressed that Nigeria needs people willing to engage actively in the democratic process. He argued that real transformation starts when citizens cast their ballots.
According to Director, the moment has come for Nigerians to come together and build a nation where the hopeless find hope, justice triumphs, jobs exist for everyone, and strong governance becomes normal. He called on those seeking genuine change to vote for the NDC's candidates in the 2027 presidential race.
The NDC spokesman described Obi and Kwankwaso as leaders equipped with the vision, character and ability to rebuild the country. "Peter Obi and Dr.
Musa Kwankwaso are leaders with the vision, integrity and capacity to transform Nigeria," he noted.
Director reaffirmed the NDC's dedication to backing trustworthy leadership, bringing the nation together, growing the economy, ensuring safety and delivering quality governance. He made it clear the party remains committed to these core values as Nigerians prepare for the next election.
