The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has successfully reconciled over 400 party members who felt aggrieved following the party's primary elections. Alhaji Isah Muhammad Gerawa, who chairs the APC Reconciliation Committee, presented the findings to Governor Umar Namadi on Friday at the Government House in Dutse.

Senator Muhammad Dudu, the committee's co-chairman, delivered the report on Gerawa's behalf. He explained that the team engaged both winners and losers of the primaries across all 27 local government areas in the state.

The committee created spaces where party members could voice their concerns and work through disagreements, according to Dudu. He stressed this was meant to restore unity ahead of the coming general elections.

Dudu called the reconciliation drive historic, saying it marked the first time a ruling party in Jigawa had undertaken such an initiative since democracy returned in 1999. The 15-member committee had met with more than 400 aggrieved members and resolved critical issues affecting party cohesion.

Governor Namadi praised the committee for its hard work and commitment to rebuilding peace within the APC. He noted that the reconciliation process had already boosted trust and cooperation among party members across the state.

The governor stressed that any political party's success rests on the active involvement and collective effort of its members. He instructed the committee to keep working on reconciliation through the general elections period.

Namadi announced the committee would become permanent, tasked with maintaining dialogue and party unity going forward. The APC Reconciliation Committee was launched on June 22, 2026, to address concerns raised by unsuccessful primary aspirants and restore internal harmony.
