NAFA Stakeholders Meeting: Atiku’s 2019 Presidential bid timely to rescue Nigeria – Talatu Salka

National Coordinator of Nigerians Asking For Atiku (NAFA), Dr. Talatu Salka, has again emphasised the need for Nigerians to rally round the Nigeria former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in his bid to become the next President, come 2019.

She made the call while speaking at a critical stakeholders meeting of NAFA held in Abuja on Saturday 28th July, 2018, wherein some national officers and state coordinators from the six geopolitical zones were in attendance to cross fertilize socioeconomic and political ideas based on Atiku’s rescue mission and good governance blueprint for Nigeria.

Dr Salka noted that the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, has created more problems for Nigeria than previous administrations, adding that the APC national government met a robust economy that was rated internationally as one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

“APC and Buhari inherited a healthy and viable economy but made grave mistakes via its ‘stone-age’ economic policies and programmes anchored on clueless change mantra that gave birth to acute economic recession, prolonged poverty, joblessness, insecurity, blame game syndrome and black propaganda; which led to the total collapse of the Buhari administration.

“But all hope is not lost because our Principal, Waziri Adamawa, Atiku Abubakar have all it takes to rescue our nation from the sorry-state of affairs wherein fight against corruption has become a tool for political victimization, a coercive machinery and abuse of fundamental rights of perceived political detractors of Mr President.

“It follows that for love of country, Nigerians must of a necessity join forces together with civil society organisations and political pressure groups to rescue our country from the Buhari analogue and failed national government.

“It is obvious beyond reasonable doubt that the best presidential hopeful to rely upon in this dispensation and in 2019, is our Principal, Atiku Abubakar,” Salka said.

Other speakers corroborated Dr Salka’s assertion, describing Atiku as a seasoned democrat, well grounded in Nigerian politics from the formation of PDP and rose to become the Vice President; a man highly detribalised, a genuine ambassador of the nation’s restructuring project and advocate of progressive democratic principles of regional autonomy and resource control.

The meeting resolved to be an advance team for all Atiku campaigns, political rallies across the country and urged state coordinators and national officers to do the needful to ensure that Atiku’s landslide victory in 2019, is achieved gallantly so as to urgently save Nigeria from the evil grip of the ruling party, APC.

The National Coordinator of NAFA, Dr. Salka, announced the appointment of Dr (Barrister) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, a Political Communication Strategist and grassroots mobilizer as the Delta State Coordinator of NAFA.

Oghenesivbe is also the Executive Assistant to His Excellency the Governor of Delta State on Communications.
