Dafinone commiserates with victims of Ometan tanker fire accident in Delta

The Senator Representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has commiserated with the victims of the tanker fire accident at Ometan community, Okpe local government area of Delta State on Friday morning which claimed 7 lives, with many properties razed.

 

The Delta Central lawmaker in a signed statement while reacting to the tragic incident which he described as devastating, condoled affected families and called on relevant agencies of government to move in and provide succour to the victims to enable them to cope with their loss.

The statement reads: “It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to the victims and families affected by the tragic tanker fire accident in Ometan community, Okpe local government area of Delta State. This devastating incident claimed the lives of seven individuals and resulted in the destruction of numerous properties.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones, as well as those who have been injured or displaced by this unfortunate event. The pain and anguish they must be experiencing are unimaginable, and my heart goes out to every one of them during this difficult time.

“As your Senator, I stand in solidarity with you at this time, offering our support to efforts to bring assistance to those in need. I commend the swift response of the emergency services by local authorities in managing the situation and providing aid to the affected individuals and families.

“I also urge all relevant agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the causes of this tragedy to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. We must prioritize the safety and well-being of our communities and take proactive measures to mitigate the risks associated with hazardous materials transportation.

“We call on governments at all levels and good-spirited individuals and corporate bodies to do everything in their power to ensure that the victims receive the support they need to rebuild their lives and recover from this devastating loss.

“Once again, I offer my deepest condolences to the victims and families of the Ometan community. May they find strength and solace amid this tragedy, and may the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace,” the statement added.
