The Nigerian Air Force (NAN), on Tuesday offered free medical treatment to over 2,000 people of the Hayin Banki community in Kaduna North Local Government area of Kaduna State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the outreach was a collaboration between NAF Air Training Command with 461 NAF Hospitals in Kaduna.
NAN also reports that the outreach was part of NAF@59 Anniversary.
The Commander, 462 Hospital, Group Capt. Ahmad Sa’idu, said the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) would be 59 years old within the week.
He noted that in that light, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, found it necessary to touch the lives of host communities of NAF.
Sa’idu said the CAS tasked all the commands to carry out a one-day medical outreach in their areas of responsibilities.
He said that the Air Officer Commanding, tasked the Hospital Air in Kaduna to conduct the medical outreach.
He further said that they would conduct medical examinations which will cover eye checks and even operate some of them who have cataracts and also issue mosquito nets to prevent malaria.
According to him, the exercise is aimed at winning the hearts and minds of the inhabitants of the community, adding that the Air Force conducts operations in various theaters.
He said the exercise was estimated to cover over 2,000 people.
NAN report that some of free medical care offers included Clinical consultation, Eye checks, Dental checks, HIV, Malaria testing, deworming and distribution of treated mosquito nets among others.
