Mother, son admitted after landlady’s son cuts their face with razor blade

It was a gory site of pains at the emergency unit of the Central Hospital Ughelli as blood flows freely from the faces of a woman identified as Mrs. Onobrakpeya and her son Emuobo who where attacked by her landlady and son over a misunderstanding that later resulted into fight.  

 

 

a quarrel which later resulted to a physical combat and in the process, the landlady son who came with a razor blade, cut the face of Mrs. Onobrakpeya and her son in a zig zag style living both seriously injured.

 

 

According to a close relative of the tenant at the hospital but refused to mention her name said; alleged that trouble started when a chicken belonging to her sisters, Mrs. Onobrakpeya husband bought for the Easter celebration was said to have messed up the common passage into the apartment which she said leads to the landlady flat.

 

 

Vexed by this, she said the landlady Mrs. Otalekor confronted the tenant and at the process there was a quarrel which later broke into a physical fight involving both the landlady, her son and Mrs. Onobrakpeya and her son. The landlady son was said to be at an advantageous position and used a razor blade to cut the face of the tenant and the son.

 

 

Our source told us that the husband of the victim reported the matter at the ‘B’ Division of the Nigerian Police, Agbarha-Otor but alleged that his inability to give the police money made them not to effect the arrest of the landlady which the source said has gone into hiding.

 

 

Meanwhile as part of his defense, the landlady’s husband, who identified himself only as Mr. Atalekor, said Mrs. Onobrakpeya and her son, Emuobonuvie, were fighting his wife when his 10-year-old son attacked them with a razor blade to defend her mother who was being hit with planks by the tenants.

 

 

He noted that it was not the first time that the two women would be fighting, adding that his wife also sustained injuries.

 

 

He said, it is a recurring thing between the two women. He accused the victim of using her size to oppressed his wife as she always pounces on his wife whenever they had quarrels. Mr.Otalekor said it was the tenant and her son that first attacked his wife and children and in the process pulled his wife hair with her son using wood to hit his wife. He said it wasvat this time his 10 year old son who could not withstand what his motger was going through picked a razor blade and cut the woman and her son.

 

 

But a police source at the ‘B’ Division, Ughelli, denied the allegation that the police demanded money before going for the arrest. The source however stated that the police where only investigating the matter and assured that anyone found guilty will be dealt with properly.
