Soldiers with Operation Hadin Kai rescued 10 abducted NECO candidates and teachers in Borno State on Monday.
Suspected ISWAP militants attacked Technical Secondary School in Lassa Community around 9:00 a.m. Students were sitting for their National Examinations Council papers when gunmen struck.
Security sources say the insurgents grabbed several exam candidates and staff members. They fled into nearby bushland after the raid.
Operation Hadin Kai troops launched a swift response operation following the attack. All 10 abducted persons were recovered safely, intelligence sources confirmed.
Authorities haven't ruled out that more victims remain missing. Search and rescue efforts continue across the region, officials noted.
Security operations are intensifying in Askira/Uba Local Government Area. Troops have vowed to pursue the attackers relentlessly.
