Midfielder Akanni Elijah has joined Barau FC on a one-year contract, the NPFL club announced. The Kano-based side secured the player after his previous stints with Katsina United and Enyimba.
Elijah won the NPFL championship with Enyimba during the 2022/23 campaign. He spent three years at the nine-time NPFL champions, making 62 appearances and scoring six goals in that period.
His experience will prove crucial for Barau FC as they prepare for the next NPFL season. The midfielder brings proven pedigree from a title-winning squad to the Kano outfit.
