Light Won’t Blink In Ogun Before I Leave Office – Abiodun

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has vowed to solve the power problem in the south-west state and hopes to achieve that goal before his term ends in four years.

The governor, who secured a second term of four years a few months ago, made this statement when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, showing his commitment to do more in the next few years.

“My aim is to make sure we execute our Light Up Ogun State project in the next four years, so that by the time I leave office, Ogun State will enjoy uninterrupted power supply,” he said on the programme.

He also said that his administration has tackled the infrastructure challenge in the education sector by constructing and refurbishing schools in the last four years.

“We have rebuilt or renovated over 1,000 schools in four years,” he said on the current affairs programme, adding that his administration has also constructed roads and hospitals and created employment opportunities for the people.

Governor Abiodun said his administration has increased the internally generated revenue of the state to the point that it can survive without allocation from the federal government.

“You must have seen a recent report by Budgit that ranked Ogun State as the number one state in terms of internally generated revenue, far ahead of any other state,” the governor said.

He also said that his state is among the top ten most resilient states and one of the few states that can cope in cases where there is no allocation from the federal government.
