Lagos State Government Announces Fresh Update on Computer Village Relocation to Katangua

The Lagos State Government has recently announced a fresh update regarding the relocation of the Computer Village, a prominent technology hub in Ikeja, to Katangua in Abule-Egba.

This news has garnered significant attention as it signals a major change for the tech community in Lagos.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on eGIS and Urban Development, Dr. Olajide Babatunde, revealed the government’s plans during a joint inspection and enforcement exercise conducted by the Lagos State Building Control Agency.

The exercise was carried out in collaboration with several law enforcement agencies and other relevant government agencies in charge of emergency-related matters.

Dr. Babatunde emphasized the government’s commitment to reorganizing all the markets in the state, citing the Computer Village relocation as an example.

He stated that the move is part of a broader plan to create more organized and efficient trading zones throughout Lagos.

The relocation of the Computer Village to Katangua is expected to bring about significant improvements to the area.

These improvements include the establishment of a well-planned market with various amenities such as a creche, schools, playgrounds, churches, mosques, storage rooms, warehouses, accommodations, and hotel facilities.

The Lagos State Government’s decision to relocate the Computer Village is a strategic move aimed at enhancing the overall trading experience for both buyers and sellers in the technology sector.

The relocation will not only improve the trading environment but also contribute to the economic growth of the state.
