In a daring operation, the Lagos State Marine Police, with the support of the Nigerian Navy, successfully rescued the Managing Director of Fouani Company (LG and Hisense subsidiary) and four others who were kidnapped while sailing from Apapa to Victoria Island. The rescue took place in the Orugbo Iddo area of Lagos late on Monday night.

The victims, including three Lebanese nationals, the boat captain, and his assistant, were abducted near Falomo Bridge on Friday.

Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the successful rescue, stating, "Last night in Orugbo Iddo, five of them, three Lebanese, the boat captain and his assistant, were rescued."

The rescued individuals were brought to shore by the Marine Police and the Nigerian Navy, and subsequently taken home to Banana Island by the Lagos State Police tactical team in the early hours of the following day.

The kidnapping of the LG and Hisense executives, along with the boat crew, had raised concerns about the security situation in Lagos.

The successful rescue operation demonstrates the effectiveness of the state's security forces in tackling such incidents.
