Police in Lagos arrested 36 suspects during June operations. They also seized about 8,000 military uniforms, firearms, and suspected drugs across the state.

Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai announced the results at a Tuesday briefing at the command headquarters in Ikeja. He called the operations part of ongoing efforts to fight armed robbery, cultism, and illegal weapons possession.

Officers recovered 14 firearms during the operations. They also seized four live cartridges, a MAN Diesel truck, 51 mobile phones, two vehicle brain boxes, one motorcycle, vandalised electrical cables, and 80 cartons of suspected illicit drugs.

A major breakthrough came when police intercepted an unregistered MAN truck. It carried 47 sacks holding roughly 8,000 military camouflage uniforms headed to the eastern region.

Three men were arrested in that seizure. They are Chinedu David, Ezeagwu Chukwuma, and Ifeanyi Ogbeanyi, according to CP Fatai.

Investigators are now working to identify where the uniforms came from. They're also trying to find who owned them and who was supposed to receive them.

In another major success, detectives arrested a suspect connected to a "one-chance" robbery gang. Police recovered 51 mobile phones the gang had stolen from victims.

Officers also caught two suspected cable vandals on the Third Mainland Bridge. The men were vandalising electrical installations when arrested.

A separate investigation in Ayetoro-Ijanikin led to three more arrests. Detectives recovered two double-barrel guns and six locally-made single-barrel firearms there.

Police arrested additional suspects across Lagos for illegally possessing firearms. Officers recovered pistols, live ammunition, and other weapons used in crimes.

Cultists linked to the Eiye and Alora fraternities were also arrested. Officers recovered firearms and ammunition during those operations.

In immigration-related action, police rescued 38 foreign nationals in Epe. They were facing possible mob violence when officers intervened.

Investigation showed 20 of the foreigners had entered Nigeria illegally. The other 18 carried valid ECOWAS travel documents, CP Fatai noted.

Police referred the case to the Nigerian Immigration Service. Relevant diplomatic missions were also notified for further action.

CP Fatai said June's results prove intelligence-led policing works. He stressed the command remains committed to protecting Lagos residents and their property.
