Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi on Friday directed for the immediate payment of outstanding allowances to security personnel in the state.
Idris stated this while interacting with journalists shortly after the Security Council meeting held at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
He assured that all security personnel posted to crisis prone areas of the state must get their outstanding allowances paid.
The governor sought for the support and cooperation of security agencies towards tackling the security challenges, especially in the southern part of the state.
While assuring total support and assistance to security agencies, Idris charged the personnel to redouble efforts towards cleansing the entire state of crimes.
He said that his administration would accord premium to security, adding that, “no society will record meaningful development in an unsecured environment”.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the meeting attended by heads of security agencies deliberated on security problems affecting the state.
