Hisbah officers in Dutsinma Local Government Area have seized a large alcohol shipment hidden in sacks and bags. The contraband was intercepted during transit through the local government area.
B. Yareema, the Information Officer at Dutsinma's Hisbah office, announced the operation on June 26, 2026.
He explained that intelligence tips had alerted the board to smuggling attempts in the region.
The board had stepped up patrols on known smuggling routes across Dutsinma. Smugglers responded by concealing bottles inside sacks and Ghana Must Go bags to avoid detection.
Officers from the Kadangaru district led the successful raid. All confiscated items now sit at the Hisbah office pending legal action.
Hisbah officials are calling on residents to share more credible intelligence. According to them, community tips remain vital to protecting public morality and keeping the area secure.
