Isoko South chairman launches 2024 measles vaccination campaign in Oleh

The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta state, Comrade Friday Ovoke Warri, has flagged off a six day integrated measles vaccination campaign targeting children and adults.

Flagging off the program on Thursday at Oleh, headquarters of the council, the council chairman, noted that the vaccination campaign will officially kicked off this weekend and end on 18, October, 2024.

During the launch event at Oleh, the council's headquarters, Comrade Warri emphasized the significance of the campaign, urging residents, particularly mothers and caregivers, to take advantage of the free vaccination at local health centers, schools, churches, and community gathering points.

“This campaign will cover all areas within Isoko South to ensure comprehensive access to measles vaccinations,” he stated, underscoring the importance of keeping immunization cards updated for effective health monitoring and follow-up.

Highlighting his administration's commitment to public health, especially maternal and child healthcare, Warri commended healthcare workers for their dedication and recognized the World Health Organization (WHO) as a key sponsor of the program. He pledged close oversight and continuous support for health initiatives benefiting the Isoko South community.

The flag-off event saw participation from local government leaders, including the council’s vice-chairman and secretary, alongside other officials. The Nursing Director of Isoko South, Mrs. Felicia Onwano, expressed gratitude for the contributions from development partners, acknowledging their role in making the 2024 measles vaccination campaign possible.
