Iheanacho Declares Himself 100% Fit and Ready to Serve Nigeria in AFCON 2023

Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, has declared himself 100% fit and ready to serve his country in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023.

The Leicester City forward arrived in the Super Eagles camp in Cote d’Ivoire on January 12th, just in time for Nigeria’s opening match against Equatorial Guinea on January 16th.

Iheanacho missed Nigeria’s preparation for the tournament due to a muscular injury, but he has since recovered and joined his teammates in camp on Saturday.

The 26-year-old has been working hard to regain his fitness and is now raring to go.

In a recent interview, Iheanacho said, “I am 100% fit and ready to serve Nigeria.

I am looking forward to making a contribution to the team and helping us achieve our goals in the tournament.”

He also expressed his excitement at being back with the team and thanked the coaching staff for their support during his recovery.

The Super Eagles have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, with whom they are likely to battle for top spot.

Nigeria’s campaign began with a 3-1 victory over Equatorial Guinea, with Iheanacho coming on as a substitute in the second half.

The Super Eagles will be hoping to build on this result as they continue their quest for a fourth AFCON title.

With Iheanacho now fully fit and raring to go, Nigeria’s chances of success in the tournament have been given a major boost.

The Super Eagles will be looking to their star striker to provide the goals that could fire them to glory in Cote d’Ivoire.
