Idahosa Leads Massive Protest at APC Headquarters, Threatens Court Action Over Edo Governorship Primary

Following the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Edo State, one of the aspirants, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has led a massive protest to the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The protest comes after a faction of the party declared Idahosa as the winner of the primary, while another faction announced a different winner.

The controversy began when the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who headed the primary election committee, declared Idahosa as the winner.

However, a parallel election committee led by Senator Bassey Otu declared a different winner, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

The conflicting results have sparked outrage among the supporters of both candidates and other party members.

Idahosa, who initially accepted the declaration of Governor Uzodimma, has now decided to lead a massive protest to the party’s headquarters.

The protesters, comprising of Idahosa’s supporters and other concerned party members, demanded justice and called for the nullification of the parallel election results.

During the protest, Idahosa threatened to take legal action against the party if the issue was not resolved in a fair and transparent manner.

He stated that he would not accept any form of injustice or manipulation of the election results.

The controversy surrounding the Edo State APC governorship primary has further deepened the crisis within the party, with various factions calling for a fair resolution.

The national leadership of the party has yet to make an official statement on the matter, and it remains to be seen how the situation will be resolved.

As the events unfold, it is important for the party to prioritize the interests of its members and the people of Edo State, ensuring a transparent and fair resolution to the issue.

The outcome of the Edo State governorship primary will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the political landscape of the state and the future of the All Progressives Congress in Nigeria.
