Ibori is a gift to Urhobo Nation, Nigeria – George Orogun

By Esada Uyono,

Chief Economic Adviser to the governor of Delta State and 2019 Ethiope Federal Constituency House of Representative aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barrister George Orogun has congratulated the former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

In a goodwill message made available to newsmen, Orogun commended Ibori for his excellent leadership qualities and for laying solid foundation for good governance which former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and incumbent governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa built upon in progressive order.

He posited that Chief ibori is blessed with wisdom, a solution provider and a leader that cares for the welfare and happiness of his people, adding that he empowered Deltans during his tenure as governor and also executed sevetal star projects across the three senatorial districts.

“Ibori has consistently retained his relevance as the most sort after political figure in South-South geopolitical zone which is why his popularity ratings soars by the day. There are so many good qualities of leader Ibori, which consistently endeared him to the hearts of many people across Nigeria.

“Ibori belongs to the ruling political class as a political king-maker whose political influence can neither be toyed with nor ignored in the game of partisan politics in Delta State and Nigeria till date.

“As an outstanding Urhobo leader, our national leader, Ibori it was who raised the stake and prestige of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) to an enviable height by funding and participating actively in local, national and international engagements, and activities of the Urhobo sociocultural body.

“Ibori was greatly missed throughout the period that he was in far away London where he was unjustly held captive over frivolous and politically motivated issues which severally and jointly affected the Unity of Urhobo Nation.

“UPU became a national embarrassment as political gladiators threw caution to the wind and factionalised the union, ridicled the enviable reputation of Urhobo ethnic nationality.

“The image of UPU was immediately restored by Leader Ibori upon his arrival in Nigeria, and the once divided and powerless union got a boost as soon asĀ  Ibori stepped into the prolonged multifaceted issues which arose from the 2015 UVWIAMUGE declaration aka Urhobo Governor saga; and immediately united all stakeholders, healed the wounds inflicted on the sociocultural organisation.

“Odidigborigbo is greatly loved by Deltans and Nigerians because of his kindness, empowerment track records and for affecting the life of many people positively.

Leader Ibori shall forever remain a rare gift to Urhobo Nation and mankind generally. I celebrate our iconic versatile leader at 60,” Orogun said.
