Governor Uba Sani has reversed decades of healthcare neglect in Makarfi, according to the District Head. Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi made the remarks during a statewide media tour of Zone One projects.

He said the reconstruction and modernization of Makarfi General Hospital has significantly improved medical services in the area. Access to quality healthcare is now within reach for residents.

Alhaji Adamu noted the facility had gone without major upgrades for over forty years. It was established in the early 1970s but never received modern equipment until now.

"For many years, our people struggled with inadequate healthcare services and had to travel long distances to access quality medical treatment," the traditional ruler told journalists. "Today, that reality has changed."

He described the intervention as a landmark project addressing longstanding healthcare challenges. According to him, Governor Sani fulfilled a promise made to Makarfi residents.

"The reconstruction and equipping of this hospital have brought relief, restored confidence in public healthcare, and renewed hope for our people," Alhaji Adamu stated. "We are grateful that the Governor has fulfilled his promise to the community."

Beyond Makarfi, neighboring communities also depend on the upgraded facility for treatment. Its impact has extended beyond the local government area.

Malama Sadiya Rabiu, a patient at the hospital, described the transformation as life-changing. She noted it has reduced both hardship and financial strain for families seeking medical care.

"Today, we can access quality healthcare services close to home," she told reporters. "This has brought great relief to families, and we are grateful to Governor Uba Sani for fulfilling his promise."

Community resident Abdullahi Musa said the project has strengthened public trust in government. He views the reconstructed hospital as evidence of the administration's commitment to citizens' welfare.

Commissioner for Information and Culture Malam Ahmed Maiyaki led the media tour. He was accompanied by Commissioner for Health Hajiya Umma K.

Ahmad.

Hajiya Ahmad explained that the project reflects Governor Sani's commitment to healthcare transformation. It demonstrates his dedication to expanding access to quality and affordable medical services statewide.

Makarfi General Hospital is one of sixteen facilities undergoing reconstruction and modernization. Governor Sani's healthcare transformation programme spans the entire state.
