Governor Dikko Umaru Radda met with traditional rulers across Katsina State to tackle security threats. The gathering included the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, and the Emir of Daura, Umar Faruk Umar.

District heads and village heads also attended the closed-door session. Top government officials were present to review the state's security response.

Radda stressed that traditional leaders must play a stronger role in fighting insecurity. He noted that emirs and chiefs remain vital in gathering intelligence and resolving conflicts at community level.

According to him, the monarchy's support is critical for mobilising residents around security efforts. The governor commended the rulers for backing government programmes so far.

He urged them to intensify vigilance within their territories. Unity among communities, he said, would help defeat the security crisis.

Radda promised his administration would deepen ties with traditional institutions moving forward. Better collaboration, he added, would improve welfare and safety across the state.

Officials described the meeting as part of broader consultations with key stakeholders. Sources say the governor wants to accelerate development in communities while tackling the rising insecurity.

Katsina has faced repeated attacks by armed gangs over recent years. Residents have called for faster government action to restore normalcy.
