Gov. Idris lauds ex-attoney general’s philanthropic support to Kebbi

Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi on Sunday, lauded the philanthropic support of former minister of justice and attorney-general of the federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, to the people of Kebbi.
He made this known while receiving the ex-minister who paid him a courtesy visit at  the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
Idris observed that the people of Kebbi had enjoyed so many gesture, adding, “you have complemented  the efforts of the state government in reaching out to the less privileged  with so many empowerment programmes that touched the lives of the common man and made them happy.”
He noted  that the ex-minister had played a vital role in  human development, spread all over the state, assuring that such gesture had not only made things easy but had also transformed many lives.
While appreciating the ex-minister for bringing succour particularly to the less privileged, Idris insisted that Malami remained a worthy ambassador of the state.
The governor thanked Malami for his active participation in the electioneering campaign which paved way for the success of the  All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
“My political history will never be complete without Malami.
“Therefore,  I want to wish you well, you have done everything for us and you have participated 100 per cent in the electioneering campaign which culminated into the success of our election,” he said.
Earlier, Malami appreciated the governor for the warmth reception accorded him on his arrival after serving his country for  eight years.
He said: “Today is a special and exceptional day for me. It is an occasion that calls for happiness, an occasion that calls for joy and an occasion that I am personally happy to be associated with.”
The ex-minister described the recent appointment made by the new governor as a  good step in the right direction considering the calibre of personalities so appointed.
Malami appreciated the people of Kebbi for the opportunity to represent them as a member of the Federal Executive Council of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for  eight years, saying: “I was just there as an errand boy from Kebbi.“
