Germany became the first team to qualify for the Euro 2024 last 16 after a 2-0 victory over Hungary on Wednesday, thanks to goals from Jamal Musiala and Ilkay Gündogan.
The win, however, was not without controversy, as Musiala's goal was allowed to stand despite protests from Hungary over a potential foul in the build-up.
The result, coupled with Croatia's draw with Albania and the situation in Group C, ensures that Germany will progress to the knockout stages as one of the top two teams in Group A.
The four best third-placed teams out of six groups will also qualify for the next round.
Germany's starting lineup remained unchanged from their 5-1 thrashing of Scotland in the opening match.
Despite a bright start from Hungary, Germany took the lead midway through the first half when Musiala rifled home his second goal of the tournament.
Hungary appealed for a foul by Gündogan in the build-up to the goal, but a video review allowed it to stand. Gündogan then doubled Germany's lead on 67 minutes, sweeping in a low cross from Maximilian Mittelstädt.
Hungary's hopes of progressing to the knockout stages are now slim, but they will face Scotland next, who play Switzerland later in the other Group A match.
Germany's victory also saw Manuel Neuer equal Gianluigi Buffon's record of 17 Euro appearances.
