Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, the Accord Party's presidential candidate, has praised the new US-Iran peace agreement. He made the comments while visiting Dakar, Senegal this week.

Hashim welcomed the deal aimed at ending hostilities in the Middle East. He said it represents a significant diplomatic achievement for global stability.

"I commend President Donald Trump, the governments of Iran, Qatar and Pakistan, and other international partners," he told reporters. Their efforts created the conditions for peaceful resolution, he noted.

A seasoned energy executive with decades in international affairs, Hashim stressed diplomacy's proven track record. He argued it remains the most effective tool for resolving complex disputes globally.

He highlighted that Middle Eastern stability affects far more than the region itself. Global security, energy markets, trade flows, and economic growth all depend on regional peace.

"The world's economies are interconnected, and disruptions in one region often create consequences across continents," Hashim stated. Economic ripple effects know no borders, he emphasized.

Nigeria and Africa have major stakes in international peace, according to the MDR co-chairman. Both continent and nation benefit directly from a stable, predictable global order.

Hashim called on nations worldwide to support dialogue-based initiatives. Cooperation and mutual understanding, he argued, offer the surest paths to lasting peace.

"A peaceful international environment creates better opportunities for development," he added. Nigeria and Africa must champion efforts advancing peace among nations, he insisted.

Hashim's 2009 Lord Max Berlof Prize for Global Affairs underscores his longstanding involvement in international matters. His backing signals strong support from Nigeria's political leadership for the agreement.

He expressed confidence the accord will reduce Middle Eastern tensions substantially. International cooperation toward peaceful coexistence and shared prosperity will strengthen, he predicted.
