Foundation Secures Release of 199 Inmates.

An NGO, Anchor Heritages Initiatives (AHI), has welcomed the release of 199 inmates from the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) Custodial Centres in South West and North Central parts of the country.

The Chief Executive Officer ( CEO) of the NGO, a foundation, Mr Bidemi Oladipupo, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos.

Oladipupo said AHI evolved five pillars that enabled it to meet its targets to the inmates.

According to him, “The pillars are Legal Aids, Teach and Beautify, Welfare, After Care Initiative, Education and Technology.”

He said the inmates that got their release facilitated cut across all the custodial centres in the South West and Kwara.

“The offences committed by the inmates include stealing, raiding, obtaining under false pretence, unjust incarceration among others,” he said .

He said the Initiative leveraged on lawyers who provided free services .

He said: ” I go to the court and saw lawyers,  I approach them in the name of Christ and spoke to them about the vision of AHI which some lawyers embraced,”

” Also, AHI partnered with Legal Aid Council of Nigeria ( LACN) which is in charge of people that are unjustly incarcerated.”

He said the initiative targets to get to all NCoS Custodial centres all over the country.
