FG supports female students of FUG Gusau who were rescued — Says Commissioner Salisu

The Federal Government has given financial support to the 14 female students of the Federal University of Gusau (FUG) who were rescued from kidnappers.

This was disclosed by the Zamfara Commissioner for Humanitarian and Relief Matters, Alhaji Salisu Musa, in a statement issued by his ministry’s spokesperson, Malam Bashir Kabir, on Tuesday in Gusau.

He said the Federal Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation delivered the assistance to the victims.

He said, “The Federal Government gave each of the students N214,285 in cash as a token of support.”

“We thank the Federal Government and the Honourable Minister, Dr. Betta Edu, for this kind gesture to the students,” he added.

He assured that the state government would continue to work with the federal government to address the humanitarian crisis in the state.

He also commended the university management and the parents of the victims for their cooperation and understanding during the ordeal.
