Feyenoord has parted ways with Robin van Persie as manager. The Dutch club announced the decision through a statement posted Sunday on X.

Van Persie will not lead Feyenoord into the 2026/27 season. A new head coach will take charge instead.

The Rotterdam outfit expressed gratitude to the departing manager in its brief announcement. "We thank Robin van Persie for everything he contributed," the club said.

Van Persie took the job in February 2025, returning to his boyhood club. His tenure lasted just over a year.

Despite the sacking, the 41-year-old achieved notable results. He guided Feyenoord to second place in the Eredivisie and secured Champions League qualification.

Technical director Devy Rigaux outlined the reasoning behind the dismissal. "We completed a thorough internal review," Rigaux told reporters.

Rigaux noted concerns about the team's playing style development. He also highlighted a declining points total across both European and domestic competitions.

According to Rigaux, the board concluded a fresh approach was necessary. "Starting next season with a new head coach is the right move," he added.
