FCT Police Commissioner Debunks Rumour of 30 Deaths in Kuje Landslide

The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Haruna Garba, has dismissed the rumour that 30 people died as a result of a landslide caused by illegal mining activities in Kuje Area Council. He said the news was false and misleading and intended to cause fear and panic among Nigerians.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, by the FCT police public relations officer, Josephine Adeh, Garba said no such incident took place in Kuje or any other part of the FCT. He assured the residents of the FCT that the territory was the safest and most secure part of the country.
