Ex-Deputy Senate President Ekweremadu Commends Nigerians for Solidarity and Prayers

Former Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, has expressed gratitude to Nigerians from all walks of life for their prayers, support, and solidarity since his recent ordeal in the United Kingdom.

Ekweremadu is currently serving a jail term abroad for organ harvesting.

In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, Senator Osita Ngwu, who succeeded Ekweremadu as the Senate Minority Whip, said that the former DSP acknowledged God’s mercy and kindness in his life, accepted his current situation with faith and grace, and did not express any sentiment suggesting that he had been forgotten by Nigerians.

However, Senator Ngwu condemned the unfounded accusations against Ekweremadu in a news report being circulated by some uninformed individuals.

He emphasized that the report about Ekweremadu accusing Nigerians of abandoning him was false and did not know what the architects of such falsehood aimed to achieve.

Senator Ngwu maintained that the people of the Enugu West District hold a special place in their hearts for Ekweremadu, who has served them with excellence.

He urged Nigerians to refrain from spreading false information and tarnishing the reputation of individuals, especially during this time of Ekweremadu’s ordeal.

The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, His Excellency Mr Peter Obi, also denounced the alleged diatribe published on social media by the nefarious group.

Mr Obi cautioned them against hiding behind credible platforms to promote ulterior interests.

The ex-Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, commended Nigerians for their solidarity and prayers during his recent ordeal in the United Kingdom.

He acknowledged the support he has received from the people of the Enugu West District and urged everyone to refrain from spreading false information and engaging in cheap propaganda.
