Ethiope West Traditional Ruler’s Council assures HPM of their support on immunization

The Head of Personnel Management, Ethiope West local government council, Chief Daddi Amudo, with some principal officers recently paid a courtesy call on the traditional rulers in the council area to solicit for cooperation and prayers as the acting chairman of the LG.

 

According to him, the tour is to enable familiarize himself with the royal fathers after the dissolution local government chairmen across the state recently and also to dispel the rumours of military men injecting school children to death and to also create the awareness on the importance of routine immunization.

 

He explained to the monarchs and their palace chiefs that the rumours of monkey pox and military men invading the area to inject school children to death created tension, which has installed fear in the minds of parents and guardians if not properly addressed will lead to poor turnout on normal routine immunization.

 

Chief Amudo, therefore appealed to the monarchs to help spread the news of the routine immunization that will be conducted early next year so that parents in their kingdoms will bring their children for immunization which would be administered by trained immunization personnel and not the military.

 

Chief Amudo added that local government authority is charged with the responsibility of sensitizing the people through the department of Primary Health Care (PHC).

 

He also mandated the Head of Department PHC in the LGA, Dr. Uyowiesevwa Johnson to explain the benefits and importance of immunization of children and pregnant woman.

 

The royal fathers agreed to support the council boss in areas of creating awareness on immunization by way of using town criers when the time approaches.

 

His Royal Majesty, Ovie of Idjerhe kingdom, Erhiekevwe 1, expressed delight that the HPM and his entourage visited his palace just as he gave his royal blessing, while pledging his support, pleading that the kingdom should not be left out from developmental drives, appealing that they needed good roads, market stalls, etc.

 

HRM Noble Etsemitan, Uku-Ogharaname, Orefe III, Ovie of Oghara kingdom while also giving his blessings to the team, maintained that being a Rotarian, he knows the importance of immunization and that Rotary is also into what government is doing as regard health care and the well being of the people.

He noted further that Rotarian went round recently, sensitizing the people on the rumours spreading around major cities in the country.
