The Chief Executive Officer of Kenyon International, Dr Victor Ekpenyong, has called for people-oriented energy policies that would make it accessible and affordable.
Ekpenyong said on Tuesday that the interest of the masses should be at the centre of such policies.
Ekpenyong made the call at the ongoing Nigerian International Energy Summit 2024 (NIES 2023) in Yenagoa.
He spoke during a panel discussion on Global Perspective for a Sustainable Energy Future.
He urged policymakers to be more democratic to ensure people-friendly energy policies for better results.
He urged that policies should reflect the interest of the people at times.
According to him, available of energy is critical to the success of businesses.
He called for viable energy transmission lines as well as technologies for energy accessibility to all Nigerians.
He advised stakeholders to join forces to make energy more affordable and accessible.
