Empowerment: Lagos LG donates 100,000 each to 20 residents

The Council  Chairman of Agege Local Government, Chief Ganiyu Egunjobi, has empowered no fewer than 20 residents with one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) each to promote self sustainability.

Egunjobi also advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the cash donation to achieve self-reliance and economic independence.

The chairman, who was represented by an official in the council, Alhaja Aminat Abdulsalam, during the presentation of the cash to the beneficiaries on Sunday in Lagos said the amount should be used as seed capital.

 

“We admonish you to ensure that the money is used for business startup or boost your existing businesses to justify the purpose for which the the amount was given to you,” she said.

She   said  the council remained committed to the welfare of residents, particularly, the residents  of  the  area.

“We urge the residents to always support the Egunjobi-led administration for more dividends of democracy because it is turn by turn, next time another set of residents will benefit from the scheme,” she added.

Mr Olayiwola Azeez, a beneficiaries thanked the council chairman for not relenting on his efforts to ensure that residents gained financial support to improve their welfare.

Azeez said that the money would be used to support his existing business to yield more profit.

Mrs Mojisola Omodele, also a beneficiary, gave kudos to the council chairman for his kind gesture adding that the money would be used to begin a new business in her community.

Omodele added that the money would go a long way in improving her welfare and her family.

NAN reports that hundreds of residents have benefited from the scheme in the past four years of the  administration.
