Two suspects faced a magistrate in Ado-Ekiti on theft charges this week. Sule Joy, 32, and Omowumi Temilade, 22, were arraigned over an alleged N1.2 million heist.

Prosecutor ASP O. Bamikole told the court the pair conspired to steal N804,210.

Between August 2025 and May 2026, he said, they targeted Dalimore Junction in Ado-Ekiti.

Temilade allegedly took an additional N408,610 from the same location. Police also accused both defendants of conduct likely to breach the peace.

The charges violated sections 421, 302 and 181(1)(d) of Ekiti State's Criminal Laws. Defence counsel Barrister Joy Egbuson requested bail for his clients.

He assured the court they wouldn't flee. Magistrate Mrs.

Bamikole Oluwasanmi granted each defendant bail of N80,000.

Both men must provide one surety in the same amount. Hearing resumes on July 3, 2026.
