Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has felicitated with Muslims in Delta State and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration, calling on them to offer prayers for peace, unity, and national development.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor urged Muslim faithful to embrace the core values of sacrifice, compassion, selflessness, and devotion, which the Eid-el-Kabir festival represents.

Oborevwori encouraged Muslims to sustain the spirit of charity by extending support to the poor, vulnerable, and less privileged members of society, describing almsgiving as a fundamental principle of Islam and a vital tool for social harmony.

He also urged Nigerians to remain committed to serving humanity through acts of kindness, sacrifice, and mutual support, particularly amid prevailing economic and social challenges.

The governor stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among people of different religious and ethnic backgrounds, calling on citizens to promote tolerance, understanding, and unity during the festive season and beyond.

According to him, sustained prayers, national unity, and collective commitment to nation-building remain essential to achieving lasting peace, security, and sustainable development in the country.

Oborevwori expressed optimism that Nigeria would continue to make progress through the shared efforts and sacrifices of its citizens.

He wished Muslims a peaceful, joyful, and spiritually rewarding Eid al-Adha celebration. He urged them to celebrate responsibly while reflecting on the enduring values of faith, sacrifice, and love for humanity.
