Urhobo has had a history of sound and quality representation in the Senate in Nigeria. The list includes Senators David Dafinone, Fred Brume, Felix Ibru, Adego Eferakeya, Pius Ehwerido and Ovie Omo Agege. These were patriots in their own right and made significant impacts in their time. Ovie Omo Agege even rose to become the Deputy President of the Senate.

Senator Ede Dafinone is the incumbent senator, representing Urhobo people of Delta Central. It is an office his father, Senator David Dafinone, once occupied so well between 1979 and 1983, and so far, he is proving to be a chip off the old block.

Senator Ede Dafinone is making a case for himself as deserving inclusion among the list of quality representations Urhobos have had at the Senate. His sterling performance through advocacies, social interventions, youth empowerment, fruitful networkings, and economic blueprints for the Urhobo people is noteworthy and commendable.

In a period where Nigerian politics is dominated by men and women of questionable character, insatiable appetite, and controversial academic records, Senator Dafinone stands out as a polished, refined, and well-mannered legislator who carries himself with class and decorum. Indeed, he hails from a family with a Guinness World Record for the number of Chartered Accountants, and he has defended that reputation well with his excellent conduct and finesse.

In standing up this past week to Senator Lalung, who had been contracted to throw stones at the excellent efforts of INEC, in delineating the Warri Federal Constituency, Senator Ede Dafinone showed another dimension of his excellent qualities: he is a courageous and no-nonsense patriot who will stop at nothing in seeking fairness and justice for his people.

Keep up the good work, Senator. You have the trust of your people.
