The Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has announced that Dr. Ochuko Benedict Emudainohwo, PhD, FCA, Associate Professor of Accounting at Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, will deliver the keynote address at the 6th DOPF Annual Lecture scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025, at David’s Event Centre, Asaba, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

In a statement jointly signed by the Planning Committee Chairman, Mr Abel Johngold, and Secretary, Mrs Josephine Omodior, the Forum described Dr. Emudainohwo as “an accomplished scholar and professional accountant with an outstanding record of academic leadership, research excellence, and service to the accounting profession.”

The 2025 lecture, themed “Nigeria’s New Tax Law: Implications and Opportunities for Businesses and Society,” will explore the policy, economic, and social dimensions of Nigeria’s evolving tax landscape. The organisers said Dr. Emudainohwo’s expertise makes him “uniquely positioned to dissect the challenges and opportunities the new tax framework presents to public and private stakeholders.”

Dr. Emudainohwo, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), holds a PhD in Accounting from Glasgow, United Kingdom, as well as Master’s and MBA degrees in Finance and a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Lagos. His research focuses on foreign direct investment, taxation, financial governance, and public sector accountability.

A prolific academic, he has published widely in both local and international peer-reviewed journals, contributing to fiscal policy, accountability, and governance reform debates across emerging economies.

At Dennis Osadebay University, he serves as Associate Professor of Accounting and has previously held the position of Acting Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, where he championed curriculum innovation, faculty development, and research collaboration.

Beyond teaching, he coordinates the Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) at DOU and mentors students across undergraduate and postgraduate levels in courses such as Financial Accounting, Social and Environmental Accounting, and Advanced Management Accounting Theory.

The DOPF Planning Committee expressed confidence that his lecture will deliver a “scholarly, practical, and policy-relevant perspective” on how Nigeria’s new tax laws affect business competitiveness, investment, and economic sustainability.

The 2025 DOPF Annual Lecture will also feature a panel of eminent discussants drawn from government, academia, the private sector, and civil society. The event is expected to attract policymakers, corporate executives, professionals, and the media.

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori will serve as Special Guest of Honour, alongside senior government officials and distinguished guests from across the country.
