Donald Duke has won the Peoples Redemption Party's presidential ticket for 2027. The party's National Working Committee confirmed this on Friday, June 5th, 2026.

Duke, a former Cross Rivers governor, was "validly elected" as the PRP's flag-bearer. Party spokesman Comrade Muhammed Ishaq announced the decision in a statement.

Ishaq said the ruling came after the primaries appeal committee reviewed its report. Four other primary election outcomes were also upheld by the committee.

One exception emerged from the process: Tarauni Federal Constituency's election got nullified. All other candidates received clearance to contest the 2027 elections.

Beyond Duke's nomination, the PRP fielded 420 candidates for various positions nationwide. According to Ishaq, this reflects the party's commitment to the electoral process.

"We remain committed to principles of internal democracy and service," Ishaq noted. He promised the party would deliver "credible and transformative leadership for Nigeria."

The PRP's move comes as political parties finalize their candidacies ahead of 2027. Duke's emergence as the party's presidential candidate sets up another contest in the general elections.
