Disgrace as facilities in newly constructed Stephen Keshi Stadium collapses, destroy vehicles, properties

With millions of naira sunked into the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba, by the Delta State Government in preparation for the hosting of the 21st edition of the African Senior Athletics Champion, yet an overhead water tank at the stadium has collapsed barely three days after kick off due to substandard job done.

 

It was gathered an unidentified woman and her two children was at the stadium to witness events but had just stepped out from the car parked under the water tank when the tank collapsed.

                                             Damaged Cars

 

 

Eye witness at the site of the incidence, reported that several cars parked close to the water tank were fatally destroyed including the fence of the stadium, shattered.

The ruined water tank is among other infrastructure allegedly constructed in a hurry, resulting into substandard work at the stadium hosting international athletes, delegates among other dignitaries.

 

 

Following the collapse of the water tank, spectators and Deltans have expressed fears over the longevity of the stadium as some of the furniture which include chairs and desks are already giving way.
