The Executive Director Projects (EDP) for the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, has reaffirmed Commission's commitment to staff development.
He stated this over the week, when he hosted the executive members of the Nigeria Association of Technology Engineers (NATE), Warri Branch, who visited his office.
Dr. Okorodudu emphasized that training and retraining are the "bedrock" of human capital development. He pledged that the Commission would "continue to encourage every staff member to participate in the capacity building of their professional bodies through AGM, Conferences and seminars."
The EDP also received an Award of Recognition for Outstanding Performance from the NATE Chairman, Engr. Ovobor Okpakowoel, during the visit.
The NATE delegation, led by Chairman Engr. Ovobor Okpakowoel, visited to formally request sponsorship for its members working within DESOPADEC to attend the Association's annual AGM, conferences, and seminars.
Engr. Sagay Blessing, NATE Treasurer, underscored the value of their members' contributions to the Commission, stating that capacity building would create carrier synergy and develop technical and leadership skills. He commended the developmental strides of the current DESOPADEC Board led by Chairman Hon. Bar. John Obukokwho Nani and MD/CEO Chief Festus Ochonogor.
Dr. Okorodudu assured the delegation that he would forward their request to the MD/CEO, Chief Festus Ochonogor, for consideration.
