The Chairman, Delta State Investments Development Agency (DIDA), Hon. Paul Nmah has said that Delta State is the preferred investment hub in the Niger-Delta Region.
This assertion was made at the 16th Niger-Delta Awards 2020 ceremony held in Asaba, Delta State over the weekend.
The DIDA Chairman who was represented by the Senior Investment Analyst of the Agency, Mr. Peter Okolie said that the investment policy of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa led-government which is geared towards creating enabling environment for investors is a contributing factor to the influx of investments into the State.
“In DIDA we promote, develop and regulate all investments and concessions in the State and our operational strategy is to harness the available natural resources and investment opportunities comprising; agriculture, aquaculture, oil and gas, solid minerals, transportation (road, air and sea) ports and maritime resources, infrastructure, housing, commerce, manufacturing, education, health care and tourism sectors to promote the inflow of investments and diversify the economy away from over-dependence on petroleum revenue in line with the SMART Agenda of the present administration.” He said.
The DIDA boss said that the award of excellence given to him is a clear indication that no hard-work goes unnoticed.
“I dedicate the award to His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for giving me the platform to work.
“Also I thank the DIDA Management and Staff and key of all, I thank the Director-General of the Agency, Olorogun Lucky Oghene-Omoru for their support and teamwork.”
The Awards according to the organisers is aimed at recognising individuals and corporate entities that have excelled in their chosen field of endeavour and have equally impacted positively in the development of the Niger-Delta region.
Other notable awardees included the Delta State Commissioner of Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Mr. Peter Mrakpor among others.
Also present at the occasion were DIDA Management and staff among who were; Odigwe Ben Esq, Board Secretary/Director Legal, Mr Fred Onojeta, SA to the DG, Faith Odearoduo DOSSIC, Mr Ogheneovo Okome DPPP, Mr Felix Nwamumu, DPRS, Mr Louis Ebegbuna, Miss Magdalene Okwusiunor and Mr Sylvester Iloba PRO.
