The road condition of Agbor-Abraka-Eku Road, which has been a source of worry for travellers on that route, is being addressed by the Delta State Government. The road connects Delta and Edo states, but it has been neglected for a long time, making it difficult and stressful for road users.
Mr. Felix Ofou, the New Media Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, spoke exclusively to DBS Television in Asaba on Sunday and said that the Federal Government had not only neglected the road but also prevented the Delta State Government from intervening. He assured that the state government was working to resolve the issue of the road.
He said that the state government was not deterred by the lack of approval from the federal government and had decided to intervene on some critical sections of the road to ease the suffering of the people. He said that the state government had awarded contracts for the construction of drainage systems and culverts along the road to prevent flooding and erosion.
He also appealed to the people of Delta and Edo states, especially those living along the road, to cooperate with the state government and the contractors handling the projects. He urged them to exercise patience and understanding, as the state government was working hard to deliver quality and durable projects for their benefit.
