The All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State chapter, has congratulated its newly elected Ward Executive Committee members following what it described as the peaceful and orderly conduct of ward congresses across the state’s 270 wards.

The party in a statement issued on February 18, 2026, signed by Valentine Onojeghuo, State Publicity Secretary, said it “heartily congratulates all our newly elected Ward Executive Committee members, leaders, stakeholders and supporters across the 270 wards in the state for the peaceful, orderly, and hugely successful conduct of the ward congresses.”

According to the party, the congresses held “across the length and breadth of Delta State” were “remarkably hitch-free and devoid of the rancour, acrimony, bitterness and violence that have often been associated with political exercises of this nature.” The APC described the outcome as “a testament to the growing unity, maturity and shared commitment to the overall progress of our great party.”

The party attributed the success largely to decisions reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held on January 23. It noted that “critical leaders of the party, acting in line with the guidelines and constitution of our great party, unanimously agreed on consensus arrangements as a means of fostering inclusivity, harmony, and collective ownership of the process and the emerging structures of the party from the ward to the state levels.”

“That decision has once again proven to be wise, timely and in the best interest of our party,” the statement added.

The APC also acknowledged the leadership role of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, stating that his alignment with the party “has further strengthened unity within the party.” The party said the governor “has demonstrated uncommon commitment to cohesion and reconciliation while successfully navigating the internal complexities of the party.”

It further claimed that Oborevwori’s leadership had achieved “a remarkable 95 percent integration and fusion of the various interests within the Delta APC family in record time,” describing the peaceful outcome of the congresses as “a clear vindication of the deliberate steps taken by his leadership in conjunction with other relevant stakeholders.”

Charging the newly elected executives, the party urged them “to seize this moment as an opportunity to build a brand new, formidable APC structure at the ward level anchored on transparency, unity, fairness and inclusivity with a pragmatic approach to the management of party administration.”

“As the foundation of our party’s strength, the wards must serve as models of discipline, accountability and grassroots engagement,” the APC stated, calling on party officials to “carry every member along, foster reconciliation where necessary and promote open communication that will further consolidate our gains and guarantee future electoral successes for the party.”

The party commended members for their “discipline, patience and steadfast belief in the leadership of the party,” insisting that “Delta State APC has once again demonstrated that it is united, focused and prepared to continue providing purposeful leadership for the people of Delta State.”

Looking ahead, the APC expressed optimism about subsequent party activities. “As we move forward to the next stages of the party’s congresses, which no doubt will be equally successful, we urge all members to sustain this spirit of cooperation and solidarity as together we build a stronger, more formidable APC in Delta State,” the statement added
