The Delta State Chapter of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) will this Saturday, September 6, 2025, light up the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) Sports Complex, Ugbomoro, with its much-anticipated Soccer Tournament — a fusion of sport, culture, and entertainment.
The tournament, billed to kick off at 9:00 am, will feature both male and female teams from diverse professional bodies, as participants swap boardrooms for the football pitch in a spirited display of teamwork, skill, and fair play.
Organisers described the event as more than just football, but a carnival of fun and unity. Spectators will be treated to comedy skits, cultural dance troupes, live music, and rib-cracking jokes, alongside a colourful parade of competing teams.
Winners will be celebrated with trophies and up to 20 gold, silver, and bronze medals, rewarding both outstanding teams and individual brilliance.
According to APBN, the initiative is designed to foster wellness, strengthen professional bonds, and create networking opportunities in a relaxed and festive atmosphere. “The 2025 APBN Soccer Tournament is set to deliver an unforgettable experience, with football, music, awards, and cultural displays all on parade,” said Delta Chapter Chairman, Surv. Victor Ezie, in a statement inviting members, stakeholders, and the public.
