Senator representing Delta Central, Senator Ede Dafinone, has congratulated the newly elected Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Solomon Val Arenyeka, and members of the State Working Committee (SWC), urging them to prioritise unity, discipline and grassroots consolidation as the party prepares for critical political engagements ahead.

In a statement issued on March 3, 2026, the lawmaker representing Delta Central Senatorial District commended the peaceful conduct of the party’s State Congress, describing it as a testament to the APC’s democratic maturity in Delta State. “I extend my warmest congratulations to the newly elected Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Solomon Val Arenyeka, and members of the State Working Committee, on the successful conduct of the State Congress and your emergence as members of the State Working Committee,” Dafinone stated.

He emphasised that the transparent process that produced the new leadership reinforces confidence in the party’s internal democracy. According to him, “The orderly, peaceful and transparent process that produced this leadership is a strong affirmation of our party’s democratic credentials and the growing cohesion within our ranks in Delta State.”

Dafinone described the emergence of the Arenyeka-led executive as both an endorsement and a responsibility, noting that party faithful expect purposeful leadership at this crucial moment. “Your emergence is a clear vote of confidence from party faithful and a solemn mandate to provide purposeful, courageous and unifying leadership. At this pivotal moment in our political trajectory, expectations are high,” he said. He further charged the new SWC to “consolidate internal democracy, strengthen party structures across the 25 local government areas, and entrench a culture of discipline, accountability and collective responsibility that will inspire confidence among the electorate.”

Projecting ahead of future contests, the senator underscored the imperative of unity within party ranks. “As we approach critical political engagements ahead, unity must remain our uncompromising watchword,” he declared, urging the leadership to “foster reconciliation where necessary, harmonise diverse interests, and build a formidable, grassroots-driven platform that positions the APC as the credible and dominant alternative in Delta State.”

He added that the task before the new executives demands “strategic mobilisation, effective communication, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of progressive governance.”

Reaffirming his readiness to collaborate with the new leadership, Dafinone concluded: “Once again, I congratulate the newly constituted State Working Committee. I look forward to working closely with you in advancing the vision of our great party and delivering sustainable development and inclusive prosperity to the people of Delta State.”
