A high court in Apo, Abuja, has ordered the permanent forfeiture of assets worth approximately N8.9 billion to the Federal Government. The assets are linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu.

Justice Jude Onwugbuzie handed down the order on Thursday after hearing arguments from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The EFCC had asked the court to permanently seize the properties, claiming they were tied to illegal activities.

The forfeited items include jewellery valued at N4.65 billion, 11 luxury vehicles worth N4.29 billion, $50,000, and N30 million in cash. The court directed that all identified assets be handed over to the Federal Government.

The ruling marks another significant recovery operation by the EFCC in its drive to reclaim property suspected of being obtained through unlawful means.
