CAF Boosts AFCON Prize Money by 40%, Winner to Receive $7 Million

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on January 4, 2024, that the prize money for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has been increased by 40%.

This means that the winner of the prestigious tournament will now pocket a cool $7 million.

In addition to the increased prize money for the winner, the runner-up will now receive $4 million, while each of the two semi-finalists will $2.5 million and each of the four quarter-finalists will get $1.3 million.
