The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has released an investigative report accusing the late Nigerian televangelist and founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), TB Joshua, of numerous atrocities, including rape, assault, and torture.
The report, which was released on January 8, 2024, details the experiences of several former members of SCOAN who claim to have been subjected to horrific abuse during their time at the church.
The allegations span nearly two decades and paint a disturbing picture of a charismatic leader who used his position of power to manipulate and exploit vulnerable individuals.
The BBC’s investigation, conducted in collaboration with international media platform Open Democracy, includes interviews with over 25 eyewitnesses and alleged victims from the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Germany, and the United States.
These individuals share harrowing accounts of forced abortions, physical abuse, and psychological manipulation at the hands of TB Joshua.
The accusations against the late pastor have sent shockwaves through the global religious community, with many expressing disbelief and outrage at the revelations.
The Synagogue Church of All Nations has not yet issued a statement in response to the BBC’s report.
