Bauchi Government Procures 30 New Buses for its Transport Company

The Bauchi State Government says it has purchased 30 new buses to boost the fleet of Yankari Transport Corporation and enhance its operations.

The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Zainab Baban-Takko stated this on Tuesday in Bauchi.

She said the State Executive Council (SEC) had approved submission by the ministry to acquire the buses for the company.

The ministry, she said, entered into Public Private Partnership (PPP) agreement with a private firm to supply 30 unit of 18-seater buses at N16 million each with a two-year repayment tenure.

“This is to alleviate the sufferings of the masses in term of transportation,” she said.

According to her, the state government has provided an enabling environment to encourage private sector to invest in the state economy.

“We  promised Gov. Bala Mohammed that the buses will soon be launch for the Yankari Transport Corporation”.
