Barcelona have completed the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United on a five-year contract. The Spanish champions, fresh off winning La Liga, have secured the England winger until 2031.

The deal is worth approximately €80 million. Barcelona fended off competition from Bayern Munich to land the 25-year-old.

Gordon became the club's first major signing ahead of the new season. He follows Patrick Kluivert and Luuk de Jong as players to represent both Barcelona and Newcastle.

The winger joined Newcastle from Everton in January 2023. He helped the Magpies win the Carabao Cup in 2025.

Newcastle's disappointing 2025/26 campaign prompted his departure. They finished in the bottom half of the Premier League that season.

Despite the poor campaign, Gordon shone for the club. He registered 20 goal contributions—17 goals and three assists—leading Newcastle's attacking efforts.

His Champions League record against Barcelona didn't go unnoticed. Gordon scored once in three meetings against the Catalan side while contributing 10 goals across all European matches.

Barcelona's hierarchy moved quickly to secure his signature. They identified him as a key piece for their midfield rebuild.

Gordon will officially arrive at Camp Nou in July. He'll first represent England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup next month.
