APC Governors Urged to Remove Uzodimma as Chairman After Controversial Edo Primary

A foundation member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osita Okechukwu, has called on the Progressive Governors Forum to remove Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as its chairman.

The appeal comes after the controversial Edo State Gubernatorial Primary, which Uzodimma chaired, was marred by disputes and mismanagement.

Okechukwu expressed his concerns about Uzodimma’s ability to handle the responsibilities of his office as chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum.

He questioned why Uzodimma was given a second assignment after he had bungled a similar task in 2020.

The appeal for removal has raised further doubts about the governor’s understanding of the demands of his office.

The controversy surrounding the Edo State Gubernatorial Primary has brought to light the need for the Progressive Governors Forum to address the situation and take necessary steps to repair the damage done to the image of the national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The mismanagement of the primary election has led to the emergence of three different candidates, which is not befitting of a progressive party.

The appeal by a foundation member of the APC to remove Governor Hope Uzodimma as chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum has sparked a debate on the effectiveness of the current leadership and the need for better management of vital assignments.

The controversy surrounding the Edo State Gubernatorial Primary serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding the principles of a progressive party and ensuring that the demands of the office are met.
