Anambra State's executive council has given the green light for a N200 billion investment vehicle aimed at spurring economic growth across the state. The government will inject 30 per cent of the capital into the Anambra Development and Investment Corporation (ADIC), with plans to transfer key state assets to the new entity.

Dr. Law Mefor, the state's commissioner for information and value reformation, disclosed the decision after the council meeting.

He said ADIC will shortly launch a public-private partnership drive to tap into development financing and pull investment into Anambra.

"Effective immediately, ADIC will operate as a highly favourable platform for both individual and corporate investors," Mefor said.

The council also backed the launch of Code Anambra Talents Mastery Cohort 2 under the Solution Innovation District (SID). This move follows the success of the first cohort and reflects the state's ambition to harness its pool of technology talent.

Mefor noted that global demand for digital skills and innovation had influenced the decision to expand the programme. The SID serves as Governor Chukwuma Soludo's technology and innovation hub, tasked with training, incubating and mentoring startups and tech entrepreneurs to drive state development.

On environmental matters, the council reaffirmed its emergency declaration on environmental degradation. A statewide sanitation exercise has been scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with communities and businesses observing a temporary lockdown during the period.

According to Mefor, the exercise kicks off a wider desilting and waste evacuation campaign to combat flooding across the state. The council also freed N315,460,777.41 to restore power to parts of Uli community in Ihiala Local Government Area and the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Chinweoke Mbadinuju Campus, in the same area.
